NOMINATIONS HAVE NOW CLOSED FOR THE 2021 TYLERS AND BRICKLAYERS TRIENNIAL AWARDS
CELEBRATING EXCELLENCE IN BRICKWORK, ROOF SLATING AND TILING AND WALL & FLOOR TILING
The Worshipful Company of Tylers and Bricklayers is pleased to have received so many nominations for the Company's prestigious Triennial Awards.
The Company is one of the older of the City of London's historic livery companies having received its Royal Charter from Queen Elizabeth I in 1568 and presents Awards to projects which demonstrate excellence in the Company's crafts in three categories:
ROOF SLATING AND TILING
WALL AND FLOOR TILING
To be considered projects must be located within the boundary of the M25 motorway and, exceptionally due to the COVID-19 pandemic, have been completed in the four years prior to 15th February 2021.
The Awards are subject to a rigorous assessment process by panels of qualified assessors, including visits to view the buildings. The winning projects will be announced in May 2021. In past years the Awards have been presented by the Right Honourable the Lord Mayor of London. The date of the 2021 Tylers and Bricklayers Triennial Awards ceremony will be announced shortly.
Each Award consists of a framed certificate for the owner of the winning building, its architect and the principal specialist contractor (depending on the category of the Award) and a certificate and a silver medal for the foreman roofer, tiler or bricklayer.
Previous winners of Triennial Awards include Battersea Power Station, the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew, the Reform Club and mosaic tiling at Tottenham Court Road underground station.
