Clips have a similar purpose to nails but are used in a different way, in single lap tiles by securing the clip into the batten with the ÒhookÓ locked onto the side interlock channel, normally either Aluminium or stainless steel. Clips are also used to hold down external edges, at verge and sides of valleys to prevent wind uplift. Different types of clips are used for repair work on slated roofs.
