Worshipful Company of Painters-Stainers  Court and Livery Dinner . The Master and Clerk  attended an Exhibition of paintings followed by dinner at the Painters' Hall.  The exhibition was the result of a competition involving originally over 800 entrants with substantial prizes, and it is open to the public until the end of November.  A fascinating variety of painting styles was on display.  Among those present at the dinner were the Masters of the: Musicians (Mr M J Summerfield)  and the Glaziers (Mr Peter Doe), the Constructors (whose Master caught a cold while processing in the Lord Mayor's Show) being represented by Mr R B Adcock.  The Master of the Painters-Stainers, Mr Peter Hammerson, was accompanied by the Upper Warden General Sir Roger Wheeler GCB CBE and the Renter Warden Mr C J Goodman. Principal guest was the Rt. Hon The Lord Millett.   The red wine, a Cote de Nuits Villages (magnums) was particularly good.
