Plaisterers' Training Awards at the Plaisterers' Hall followed by luncheon.  The Master of the Plaisterers Robert Dalrymple was accompanied by the Deputy Master Reginald Denby, Upper Warden Hubert Lacey, Renter Warden Richard Hanney and Clerk Hilary Machtus.  The Guest of Honour was the Lord Mayor who presented the prizes. Interestingly at least one of these had been won at SkillBuild and mention was also made of WorldSkills which is due to take place in London in 2011.  (Craft Committee - please note).

Among the Masters of other Livery Companies attending was the Master of the Welsh Guild, Commander John Curteis who is also Past Master of the Feltmakers' Company.

The Installation Dinner of the Builders Merchants' Company at the Mansion House was attended by the Master and Mistress together with the Clerk and his Lady.  New Master Ken Pepperrell, the Senior Warden Gary Hopkins and the Junior Warden Graham Bellinger presided. The Guests of Honour were the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress and also present were the Master of the Carpenters' Company the Rev. Dr Peter Povey, the Master of the Plumbers' Company David Hamilton, the Master of the Paviours' Company Andrew Panter, the Master of the Constructors' Company Dr Christine Rigden, Alderman Fiona Woolf and her husband Nicholas Woolf who is Master of the Tax Advisors'Company,  Alderman and Sherriff David Wootton, Sheriff Peter Cook and Lt. Col David Mogg, C.O. of the 3rd Battalion The Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment. The response was given by Mr Brian Blanchard, MD of Hunter Plastics Ltd. After an excellent dinner the entertainment consisted of an incredible rendering of the Post Horn gallop by two musicians standing at each end of the gallery who vied with each other to produce even more seemingly impossible acts of virtuosity.
