The Master, and the Renter Warden in his capacity as Chairman of the Craft Committee, attended SkillBuild at the NEC on 21st November 2015. As ever the standard exhibited by the competitors in all three of our crafts was exceptionally high and we will be delighted to welcome the winners to celebrate their achievements at our Annual Awards ceremony at Trinity House on 7th March.
Pictured are the Master and his Lady being presented with a gift of a slate heart from Matt Timby the winner of the IFD’s Young Roofer Award. Matt was a former SkillBuild winner so it was extremely pleasing to see his progression to World Champion and underlines the importance of quality training and our support for it.
The NFRC kindly hosted dinner for the Master, Renter Warden and their ladies the night before at which we were able to meet and welcome James Tolman who will take over from Ray Horwood as Chief Executive in the New Year. We are indebted to Ray for all he has done over the years in cementing the Company’s links with the roofing industry and our thanks are also due to the NFRC, the Tile Association and the BDA for supporting our attendance at this event.
