Golf Day on the New Course at Essendon Country Club

The Worshipful Company of Tylers and Bricklayers look forward to welcoming you to the annual ‘Paul Harris Golf Day

This year the venue is the Essendon Country Club near Hatfield in Hertfordshire.  We are playing on the New Course which is one of two courses set out in an attractive 400-acre estate once owned by the brewer, Samuel Whitbread.  The New Course was laid out in 1992 and, at the behest of the former Japanese owners, was designed with unique dual greens on 15 of the holes.   The course measures 6,900 yards in length and features water on nine holes.

The Annual Inter Livery Competition for the ‘3 Clerks’ Trophy’ will take place.  We would be delighted to welcome individuals or teams from the Masons, Constructors, Paviors, Builders Merchants, Carmen and the Makers of Playing Cards to join the Tylers and Bricklayers in the competition.

Members of the Tylers & Bricklayers will also play individually for the ‘Paul Harris Trophy’.  The outline programme for the day:

Arrival by 11.00 am for Coffee and Bacon rolls.

Tee off from 12.00 noon

3 course meal at approximately 5.30pm, followed by presentation of prizes

Each Company should submit their team of 4 players to compete for the Inter Livery competition prior to tee off.  The winners will be decided by the best three stableford scores of each team on each hole, playing off full handicap.

Members of the Tylers and Bricklayers will also play individually for the ‘Paul Harris Trophy’, again by marking a stableford score off full handicap.
