The Worshipful Company of Tylers and Bricklayers is pleased to have received so many nominations for the Company's prestigious Triennial Awards. The winners were announced at were announced at an Awards ceremony held at Apothecaries’ Hall on Thursday 2 September 2021.  Click here for a full report of the ceremony along with a list of the winners.

The Company is one of the older of the City of London's historic livery companies having received its Royal Charter from Queen Elizabeth I in 1568 and presents Awards to projects which demonstrate excellence in the Company's crafts in three categories:

BRICKWORK
ROOF SLATING AND TILING
WALL AND FLOOR TILING

To be considered projects must be located within the boundary of the M25 motorway and have been completed in the three years prior to the awards.  Exceptionally for the 2021 Triennial Awards this time period was extended to four years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Awards are subject to a rigorous assessment process by panels of qualified assessors, including visits to view the buildings.   In past years the Awards have been presented by the Right Honourable the Lord Mayor of London.

Each Award consists of a framed certificate for the owner of the winning building, its architect and the principal specialist contractor (depending on the category of the Award) and a certificate and a silver medal for the foreman roofer, tiler or bricklayer.

Previous winners of Triennial Awards include Battersea Power Station, the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew, the Reform Club and mosaic tiling at Tottenham Court Road underground station.
