The Company's Charters
The 1936 Charter explains how it has come about that the 1568 Charter is the only one in force now. The 1936 Charter no longer serves any purpose since 5.38 of the Charities Act 1960 repealed the restrictions on the power of Corporations to own land without a license from the Crown.
